BAP, or 'Build, Articulate, Plan', was a step-by-step strategy to help New York-based startups succeed in the volatile creative industry. It also provides a set of strategic tools that can be used to enhance various activities carried out by successful startups.
The first step, Build, allowed startups to analyze their company as well as theirĀ goals, and to then create a Mission Statement and a set of values to set the foundation for their company moving forward. This is highly important because it helps each employee understand what the goals are, and assists with laying out a strategic direction for the startup.
The next step, Articulate, provides communication and relationship advice intended for the employees of the startup. With effective communication, both internally and externally (e.g. to its clients), a startup supports an open and transparent set of relationships.
The final step, Plan, enables a startup to create their own strategy that will help guide its employees through projects and their work. Planning, or strategizing, is important for startups to realize their projects in more detail and with more efficiency.
